Cheers! It's time to celebrate one of the most important days of the summer - International Beer Day! As one of the beer industry's great capital cities, Denver is a fun place to spend this unique holiday that falls on August 3rd this year. Join thousands of beer lovers around the world to raise a pint and join in the festivities for 2018.
Origins of International Beer Day
Created as an idea for a local event in 2007 by a beer lover in Santa Cruz, the first International Beer Day took place ten years ago in 2008. Today this special holiday is commemorated around the world on the first Friday of August and has spread to locations far beyond the West Coast. In fact, you can now find International Beer Day events in more than 200 cities including Denver!
How to Celebrate International Beer Day
Kick the weekend off right by enjoying your favorite beverage and gathering with friends at a pub, brewery, neighborhood tavern, or any place where good beer is served. In Denver, that's easy to do! And you can toast International Beer Day with any kind of brew no matter what your preference. Whether you love lagers, IPAs, ales, porters, or pilsners, mark the date down on your calendar so you can remember to celebrate for years to come. Tell your friends, so they can save the date too. Drinking beer with friends is one of the great pleasures in life.
International Beer Day includes 3 main goals:
1. Celebrate with friends around your favorite beers
2. Honor the brewers and servers who have a passion for beer
3. Bring the whole world together for one day with beer as a focal point
Right here in Denver, you can raise a glass to honor International Beer Day at breweries across the city and right at our hotel at The Lockwood Kitchen & Bar, our farm-to-table restaurant that highlights local Colorado flavors.
