Tips for Visiting the US Mint in Downtown Denver

Do you have any coins in your pocket? You might be surprised to learn that they might have been made right in Downtown Denver! Just a few blocks from our Crowne Plaza Hotel is the US Mint of Colorado. Since 1863, coins have been minted at this facility. Today, they make circulating currency that you use every day along with special products and commemorative coins as designated by Congress. The history of the US Mint in Denver dates back to 1858 when gold was first discovered in Colorado.

Tours of the US Mint
Guided tours last 45 minutes and give you a behind-the-scenes look at how coins are made. Tours are available to the public from 8 am to 3:30 pm. For more information about a tour of the US Mint, check out the official website.

After your tour, stop by the US Mint gift shop to shop for souvenir coins. They make the perfect gift for your friends and family back home, or if you are a coin enthusiast, you can find something for your personal collection.

Kids will really love the tour. Find out more information about bringing children to the US Mint.
