Celebrate Colorado Day with Free Things to Do in Denver

Celebrate Colorado Day this summer with free things to do in Denver! This annual celebration commemorates when Colorado officially became a state on August 1, 1876. Today, the day is marked with free events in Downtown Denver and around the state. When you stay at our urban-inspired Denver hotel, you can explore world-class art museums and beautiful state parks just outside the city.

American Museum of Western Art
Explore one of the greatest collections of American art at The Anschutz Collection. This world-class museum will be offering free self-guided tours all day on August 1st. You can enjoy a swim at our rooftop pool, then walk over to the museum in about five minutes from our hotel.

Chatfield Farms at Denver Botanic Gardens
Discover a 700-acre plant refuge just a short ride from our Downtown Denver hotel. Admission is free to Chatfield Farms on August 1st.

Visiting Colorado State Parks
If you want to get out and explore the stunning Rocky Mountains, all of Colorado's state parks will be free on August 1st. This is a rare chance to see some of the country's most spectacular scenery for free. Nestled at the foot of the Rockies, Golden Gate Canyon State Park and Eldorado Canyon State Park are two very popular destinations for nature lovers. From our smartly designed hotel in Downtown Denver, you can reach both of these state parks in less than an hour. After a breathtaking hike through the canyons, come back to our eco-friendly hotel for a relaxing evening.
